A tiger cub strayed into a village of Sushi-Dabgaon in Chiroli area of Chandrapur Regional Division, following a dog and becoming separated from its mother. A major operation was conducted to reunite the cub with its mother.
Through a thorough examination of camera traps across the area, it was confirmed that the cub’s mother was a tigress from Chiroli.
In April, with temperatures reaching as high as 48 degrees Celsius in the Chandrapur district, our organization played a crucial role in the tiger reunion campaign at Sushi-Dabgaon, collaborating closely with the Chandrapur territorial division and the forest department. During the operation, temperatures soared to around 45 degrees Celsius, making the task particularly challenging.

The Andhari river, which originates from the core area of the Tadoba Tiger Reserve, runs through the forest. While patrolling at temperatures of 46 degrees Celsius during the reunion campaign, we observed small puddles forming along the stream, highlighting the dire condition of the water. These waterholes, constructed by the forest department as recommended by our organization, are essential for wildlife, ensuring they have accessible water during the scorching summer months.
