Another Victim of Our Delays.

Tragedy struck again near Kothari- Aaksapur, where a leopard was hit on the spot by an unknown vehicle along National Highway 353B. This highway, which cuts through a vital wildlife corridor connecting the Kanhalgaon Sanctuary and Kawal Tiger Reserve, has long been known for its threat to wildlife movement.

Despite repeated appeals and ongoing struggles by wildlife advocates, no mitigation measures like underpasses or eco-bridges have been implemented. NH-353B continues to act as a deadly barrier, slicing through one of the most biodiverse and ecologically sensitive areas in the region.

Build wildlife underpasses and implement speed control measures immediately.

Let’s protect our forests, our wildlife, and our future.

The Habitat Conservation Society reached the spot, assisted the forest department, performed post-mortem examinations, and was present throughout the entire process.
